Overview

Migrated Knauf's technical document app away from Adobe Digital Publishing Suite — first to Cordova, then to React Native — saving significant license cost and keeping the product alive as Adobe's platform was discontinued.

Achievement

Led the full rewrite of the app and its storefront, built a CI/CD pipeline to publish store updates without a full app release, and extended the product's life by 4+ years on an independent, maintainable stack.

Outcomes

  • Drove the migration away from Adobe DPS before the platform's end-of-life — eliminating recurring license costs and avoiding forced discontinuation
  • Rewrote the storefront and start page from scratch in the new stack, maintaining feature parity and improving performance
  • Built a CI/CD pipeline that rebuilt and published the content store automatically on every change — decoupling content updates from app store releases
  • Completed two major platform migrations over the project's lifetime: Angular/Cordova first, then React Native
  • Delivered for architects and construction professionals who relied on offline access to technical specs — the offline capability was non-negotiable
